I was looking forward to applying the screen protector for my new Amazon Kindle 2. However, I was sorely disappointed in how it went on. This was made in a way that you have to first clean off the screen (normal), then remove the backing to apply it to the screen, apply it to the screen, smooth it out, and then remove the top mask from the protector screen. No matter how hard I tried, I could not get the “bubbles” out of it. Whereas I am a novice at putting one of these protectors on the Kindle 2, I have applied many different protectors to my Palm Pilot, cell phone, etc. This was very frustrating for me and I will not be buying this brand again.

The one I purchased was a bit too wide so the edges curl up. I gave up on getting the bubbles and lint out after several attempts and plan to leave it on while I continue to shop. C’mon 3M, there is a market here.

I bought two and mastered putting the thing on the screen with the first one. After I got the second one on properly, it took away some of the brightness and clarity of the reading experience. I threw both of them away.

Protectors like this are always a pain to put on, but I was very pleased with the thickness of the product when I took it out of the package. It is not flimsy at all. However, when I put it on the screen, it is just slightly larger than the screen, so impossible to get to lie flat and remove all the air from under it. There was no way I could use this. There may be some inconsistency when they are cut, I don’t know, but after having to take it up a few times and try to position it so it would lie flat, I ended up having to throw it away. If I could get it with cheaper shipping I might try again, but I am afraid to throw more money away.

Makes sense to purchase a screen guard for my new Kindle. After receiving the product, I read the easy three step instructions and performed the task. What the instructions don’t say is this should be applied in a very dust free area. Any drifting particles that comes in contact with the adhesive side will form a bubble about 5 mm diameter. Also, the guard isn’t squared I had to trim a corner off in order to let it lay flat. It turned the pristine Kindle screen into a crappy one. I applied and reapplied it to get rid of every bubble but it just picks up more dust and gets worst. I can’t recommend this product but it does the job of protecting the screen. I finally decide to do without it. It was too much of a distraction plus it added glare to the screen. I will be looking at the screen for hours at all the imperfections and blisters. A waste of money.
